Master of ICT Research
The Master of ICT Research is an advanced coursework and research program. Coursework will consist of one year of study in three broad fields in ICT, including Research proposals, followed by a year of Research thesis to complete. The research degree teaches you the fundamentals of knowledge creation. The skills you gain will support you throughout your career.
This course will give you a broad grounding in networking, data analytics, telecommunication engineering and the Internet of Things. Then you'll choose one area to focus on in your research and dissertation. You'll learn to solve complex problems with innovative ideas.
Your research will contribute to the fourth industrial revolution. You'll become a subject matter expert with the chance of being published or speaking at conferences presenting your research.

Melbourne Campus
Located in the centre of Melbourne Central Business District (CBD), the MIT Melbourne campus is the larger of the two campuses. Situated among shops, restaurants, banks, post offices and entertainment outlets, close to parks and gardens, hospitals, the State Library of Victoria and the Queen Victoria Market, and with easy access to public transport, the MIT Melbourne campus offers the perfect balance between study, work and play.
Sydney Campus
The MIT Sydney campus is located in Sydney’s Central Business District (CBD) next to Darling Harbour, one of the city’s largest shopping, food and entertainment precincts. Located right in the heart of the City on Sussex Street, easily accessible by train- we are a few minutes’ walk from Wynyard and Town Hall stations.

- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have completed the equivalent of a three year Australian Bachelor degree.
Mature age applicants can be considered for admission on a case-by-case basis having regard to the prior study, employment and professional experience.
Successful completion of 1-semester full-time study (0.5 EFTSL) Example: For a unit with 15 credit points, 15 divided by 120=0.125
