Bachelor of Business (Honours)
The Bachelor of Business (Honours) is a one-year postgraduate research programme for exceptional Bachelor of Business graduates.
Develop postgraduate research skills and further your understanding of a specialist business field. You work closely with academic staff in business and economics, researchers and other high-performing students in a learning environment that challenges you to excel.
An honours degree demonstrates a high level of achievement that is recognised by employers in New Zealand and overseas and can lead to further postgraduate study. Employers recognise the rigour required for honours level study and the skills developed through independent research as key attributes in differentiating top talent.

The Employability Lab hosts a number of events like career fairs, expos and presentations where – as potential employees - students and graduates can meet employers. We also run regular career development workshops and recruitment events.

We are connected with many employers who provide the leadership speaker series, industry panels and talks about potential employment with their organisation, including internship and graduate opportunities.
Past presenters include Samsung Electronics NZ, MYOB, Deloitte, BNZ, NZME, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Counties Manukau DHB and AR/VR Garage.
PSW Opportunity
- During study, all students on a student visa can work up to 20 hours per week during semester and full time during vacations.
- After completing Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Qualification, a student will get a three years open post-study work visa.
- After completing Level 8 Post Graduate courses of 1 year, students get 1 year PSW.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor of Business with a B+ grade average or higher in level 7 courses in the selected subject area, or equivalent
- Admission to the BBus (Honours) is subject to approval by the Dean (or representative).
