Certificate III in Joinery
To receive this qualification, you must complete 16 core units and 14 elective units.
Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff qualifications.
If you have already completed other eligible elective units, these may be counted towards completion of this program.
You will learn to use a range of specialist machinery, as well as preparing and working from computer-aided drawings and associated cutting lists. In regards to each machine, you will learn about the material you are processing and how to use the machine itself - from basic to high-end production machinery such as computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines.
You will learn to use Oxy-LPG equipment, as well as to cut and install glass, install windows and doors and undertake sustainable practices in the construction industry.
You'll be trained on full-sized projects in Holmesglen's specially designed and industry-standard facilities.
The Certificate III in Joinery provides comprehensive training in all practical and theoretical aspects of joinery.

PSW Opportunity
Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.
- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
