?Graduates of this programme will have the skills and knowledge to work in a wide variety of entry-level positions in the IT industry. They will be capable of applying the fundamentals of current and emerging concepts and practice in IT.

Additionally, those who go on to further learning may be granted credit recognition for this certificate qualification. They may only need to complete their learning for the additional skills and knowledge required, such as the New Zealand Diploma in Information Technology Technical Support (Level 5) qualification, or they may go on to study at the undergraduate degree level. It is recognised that the programme outcomes' scope will match the requirements for IT support roles at Tier 1.

• During study, all students on a student visa can work up to 20 hours per week during semester and full time during vacations.
• After completing Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Qualification, a student will get a three years open post-study work visa.
• After completing Level 8 Post Graduate courses of 1 year, students get 1 year PSW.

Level 6 Admission Requirement:

Completed Year 12 or equivalent.

Based on study completed after school (tertiary study)

• Completed the New Zealand Diploma (Level 5);
• Or a recognised equivalent. 

Level 7 Admission Requirement:

Candidates are required to:
i) have successfully completed a bachelor degree from a New Zealand Institution or an approved and accredited overseas institution; or
ii) Successfully completed a Level 6 or 7 Diploma and relevant work and/or life experience (equivalent to a bachelor degree); or
iii) Evidence of equivalent practical, professional or educational experience as approved by the Centre Director or authorised nominee.

Concurrent programmes:
IELTS 5.5 with a minimum of 5.0 in all bands, or equivalent

Programmes level 4 and below:
IELTS 5.5  with a minimum of 5.0 in all bands, or equivalent

Programmes levels 5 to 7:
IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in all bands, or equivalent

Programmes level 8 and above:
IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in all bands, or equivalent

Additional requirements:
2 year validity period for all assessments. External bodies may influence some programme specific IELTS levels. You must provide evidence of your proficiency in the English language.
