Private Pilot Licence – Level 4
Based on 12 weeks of study this course includes 6 theory papers and 55 hours flight time. This course is suitable for students interested in flying for recreational use. This course is available to self funded students only. All International students who apply for this course will require a visa, a student visa can be obtained but training for up to 3 months can be done on a visitor’s visa. Once the 3 month period is complete training can be continued by extending the visa.

PSW Opportunity
Level 7 (Bachelor’s degree)
- Duration: Equal to length of study (typically up to 3 years)
- Requirement: minimum 30 weeks full time study in NZ
Level 7 (Graduate Diploma)
Eligible for PSWV
Conditions:
- Must also hold a Bachelor’s degree (NZ or overseas)
- Duration: Up to length of study (typically 1 year)
Level 8 (Postgraduate Diploma)
- Duration: Equal to length of study, OR
- Up to 3 years in some cases (if part of higher qualification pathway)
Level 9 and 10 (Master’s degree and Doctoral degree)
- Duration: 3 years
- Condition: Must study at least 30 weeks in New Zealand
- Most eligible international students can work up to 25 hours per week during study and full-time during scheduled breaks, only if their student visa includes work rights.
- Foundation, pathway and short courses have different rules.
- Not allowed for part time students.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Be at least 18 years of age before commencing the programme
Complete the ADAPT Trainee Pilot Pre-screening test
Hold NCEA Level 3 with at least 14 L3 credits in English rich subjects (English, History, Geography, Biology, Classical Studies, Art History, Journalism, Media Studies, Religious Studies, PE) and 14 L3 credits in Maths orientated subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Calculus, Accounting, Economics) - or equivalent.
Or
Have achieved passes (70% and above) in all 6 PPL Theory courses.
IELTS Test Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5
TOFEL Score of 46 (with a writing score of 14)
