Master of Strength and Conditioning
If you've always wanted to work with athletes – or you're a current practitioner who'd like to enhance your skills – La Trobe's Master of Strength and Conditioning offers a unique opportunity to excel in this high-demand field as a qualified strength and conditioning coach.
Enhance your career as you learn the latest skills and knowledge on strength, speed and endurance. You'll study with expert academics and industry leaders as you learn how to work with elite, professional and amateur athletes – and help enhance their performance. You'll investigate and work with diverse athlete populations, including para-athletes, able-bodied athletes, and athletes of different ages and cultural and gender identities.
This course was developed in collaboration with the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA), so you'll learn the latest best practice. Our academic staff have a wealth of recent industry experience, and many have held positions with professional sporting teams, and state or national institutions. They have worked closely with development athletes through to Olympic medallists.

Melbourne Campus
La Trobe’s Melbourne Campus combines parkland beauty with a vibrant campus culture filled with cafés, shops and a multi-level library. It’s also one of Australia’s largest university campuses. You’ll have access to state-ofthe-art facilities, including our brand-new tech and business labs, the La Trobe Institute for Molecular Science and our very own Wildlife Sanctuary. As a strength and conditioning coach, you'll be equipped to support both elite and amateur athletes as they strive for peak performance. You could work with professional sports teams; performance training organisations; sport schools, academies and institutes; specialist and private schools; private practice; and other multi-disciplinary workplaces.

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.
- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years

- Successful completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent).
- Specialisation - compulsory: Sport and/or exercise science and/or related field.
