Invest in Yourself: Strengthen Strategic Skills - A Global Reach Student’s Journey at the University of Strathclyde
At Global Reach, we believe that true growth begins the moment you decide to invest in yourself. Among the many inspiring stories of our students who have taken that leap, one remarkable journey stands out — that of a Global Reach student currently pursuing the MSc International Management (MIM) at the University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom.
Before embarking on his academic adventure, he was already an accomplished entrepreneur, steering his own venture, Electrofly, specialising in printed circuit board (PCB) design and customised electronic solutions. Yet, amid the fast-paced rhythm of running a business, he felt the need to deepen his strategic acumen, broaden his leadership perspective, and refine his understanding of global business dynamics. It was this desire for transformation that led him to Strathclyde — a university celebrated for nurturing visionary thinkers and global leaders.
Transitioning from boardroom to classroom, he discovered an environment rich with reflection, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity. Through transformative modules like Global Business Environment and Managing Across Cultures, guided by the insightful mentorship of Dr. Dilshod Makhmadshoev and Dr. Ying Zhang, he gained a profound appreciation for how institutions, cultures, and leadership styles shape international business success.
The MIM programme offered more than academic learning — it became a journey of self-discovery. From real-world consulting projects to serving as Programme Representative for his cohort, he learned to blend entrepreneurial instinct with global strategic vision. Strathclyde’s career services further helped him explore new markets, sharpen his professional goals, and envision the global expansion of his business with renewed confidence.
In his own words, his parting message to future aspirants beautifully captures the spirit of lifelong growth:
“Invest in yourself, be patient in the process, keep learning and you will grow into every opportunity.”
