Career Support & Employer Engagement

RMU empowers both job seekers and employers through its Career and Professional Development Center:

• For Students & Alumni: Offers workshops, resume help, interview prep, career fairs each semester, access to Handshake for job listings, and networking events 
• For Employers: Tools include the ability to post jobs on Handshake, participate in career fairs, conduct on-campus interviews, host workshops, and launch internship programs 

Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).

Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.

Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).

STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Scores from an approved English language exam (we accept TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, Duolingo) Minimum scores required are as follows:

• TOEFL - 55 ibt
• IELTS (Academic) - 5.5 overall band score
• Duolingo English Test (DET) - 90
• PTE - 42
• A score of 540 or higher on the SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section may be accepted in lieu of an approved English language exam.
