Private universities may charge tuition in the range of EUR 10,000 to EUR 20,000 per year, but many public universities will only charge low administrative fees or semester fees, around EUR 250–500 per semester.

These scholarships may cover some or all of the tuition and living costs of studying in Germany.

Student Visa & Resident Permit

Visa Information

International students must apply for the German Student Visa (National visa) and a resident permit when they arrive to study in Germany. You must show proof of admission to a recognized institution, proof of financial support (usually EUR 11,208 in a blocked account), and insurance.

In Germany, you will also be granted 18-month post-study work rights to look for a job in the field you studied and potentially apply for Permanent Residency.
