Mapping and Geospatial Data Science with Year in Industry MSci Honours (H271)

This five-year version of our Mapping and Geospatial Data Science degree includes a year in industry, providing you with technical and transferable skills in the surveying sector.

This degree equips you with practical skills and knowledge in measuring, mapping, recording and managing information. You apply this knowledge to a range of areas, from urban and rural to coastal and the open sea.

You’ll gain in-depth understanding of a range of topics, spanning:

• engineering surveying
• geodesy
• photogrammetry
• cartography
• GIS
• hydrographic survey and computing

You benefit from a combination of field trips, project work and industry visits. This ensures you graduate with the technical skills required to succeed in the surveying sector.

Between Stages 2 and 3 you take a paid year in industry. While gaining first-hand experience of the surveying sector, you also develop your practical skills.
