Studying hard and getting great marks doesn’t guarantee you a job. Most employers expect applicants to be skilled and experienced in the workplace. Working while you study is an excellent way to build your employability skills and gain life experience.

Why does it?
Employers appreciate any full-time, casual or part-time experience like working in hospitality or retail, on a reception desk, or even in construction.  They value this kind of experience because it shows that you can be responsible and professional. Working while you study builds professional skills that are essential for professional roles:

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

• Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
• Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
• Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
• The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

• Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
• Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
• Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
• PhD students can stay upto 4 years

Master of Management

• AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification in a related field or recognised equivalent, or
• AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification or recognised equivalent, and two years relevant approved work experience, professional certification or other recognised prior learning

Master of Public and Social Policy
AQF level 8 bachelor honours or graduate diploma qualification in a related field or recognised equivalent, or
Meet two of the following three criteria:

• AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification in a related field or recognised equivalent
• Approved work experience, professional certification or other recognised prior learning
• AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification or recognised equivalent with a WAM of 65
