Graduate Diploma in Energy Efficient and Sustainable Building

This diploma focuses on the role of design research and innovative design practice in addressing critical issues associated with the sustainability of the built environment. It emphasises the application of theoretical knowledge to practice and will build your capability to respond to emerging issues, trends in the field, as well as to manage organisational needs through your developed skills and knowledge.

You will learn how to consider the environmetal, social and economic aspects in building design and practice. You will study topics such as thermodynamics and heat transfer, and energy, water and airflow in buildings, and will develop a strong understanding of current sustainable building practices.

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

  • Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
  • Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
  • Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
  • The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

  • Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
  • Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
  • Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
  • PhD students can stay upto 4 years

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

  • You must have successfully completed an Australian bachelor’s degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) in any discipline.
  • You may also be considered if you have a minimum of 3 years of significant work experience or professional practice related to energy efficiency, sustainability or building and construction.
  • To have your professional experience considered you must submit with your application a CV and a personal statement detailing your experience.
