Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design

This qualification in civil and structural engineering design provides you with the skills and knowledge to work on various public infrastructure building projects such as roads, railways, buildings, water reservoirs, subdivisions, airports, bridges, sewer systems, tunnels, dams and other public works. You will study and gain skills in the design and construction of civil works.

You will also learn several engineering drafting standards and receive exposure to computer-aided design (CAD) programs selected including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit and Microsoft Project.

This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed for the roles of senior civil works designer or para-professional designer who support professional engineers.

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
PhD students can stay upto 4 years

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Academic Entry Requirements

A minimum of Year 12* or equivalent qualification; or
Year 11* or equivalent plus either a minimum 1 year of relevant work experience ^ or a relevant accredited or non-accredited course; or
Successful completion of AQF Certificate III or a higher qualification

English Language Proficiency

Overall IELTS band score of 5.5, with no band score less than 5.0; or
An equivalent score in another English Language Proficiency Test acceptable by the National Institute of Technology; or
An alternative English language proficiency evidence that is acceptable by the National Institute of Technology.
