NCUK - International Foundation Year
University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD), has partnered with NCUK, a leading pathway qualification provider, to offer students the opportunity to complete an internationally recognised foundation course in Dubai before progressing to a top-ranked University in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the USA.
The International Foundation Year (IFY) gives students access to over 4,000 degrees through 45+ leading universities across 13 countries. This qualification is designed to prepare you for first-year entry to a bachelor’s degree.
One of the many benefits offered by the International Foundation Year is that students who do not have the scores for direct entry into a bachelor degree in the UK, Australia, or USA, among other destinations, can study at UOWD for one year before studying abroad at one of the NCUK universities.
Upon successfully completing the NCUK's International Foundation Year, students are guaranteed a place on a suitable course at an NCUK University or University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD)* and will also be guided through the university application process by UOWD College and NCUK.

Job Opportunity Potential
The duration of the International Foundation Year (IFY) is 7 to 9 months. Like A-Levels, you will study four academic subjects from the list below depending on which degree you want to study at university.
In Engineering stream, you will study the following 4 modules:
- Mathematics for Engineering
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Research & Communication Skills
In Business stream, you will study the following 4 modules:
- Sociology
- Business Studies
- Economics
- Research & Communication Skills
Upon successfully completing the NCUK IFY, students are guaranteed a place on a suitable course at an NCUK University or University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) and will also be guided through the university application process by NCUK and a student advisor.
