Students who study Drama with Education secure employment in several fields. Roles within the creative and expressive arts industry such as theatre and stage production are natural progression routes. Many graduates also pursue further study with formal educational roles such as a PGCE in English or Primary Education.

Our Drama graduates work in the professional theatre as actors, directors, writers and stage managers. Our graduates also work as teachers, college and university lecturers, drama therapists or community artists. They have found work with: Kabosh Theatre Company, Blue Raincoat Theatre Company, the Millennium Forum, Jigsaw Productions, Lyric Theatre, In Yer Space, BBC, Derry Playhouse, amongst others. They have set up their own businesses, founded theatre companies, been employed in various media posts, management, theatre management, arts administration, and the civil service.

Our graduates progress to postgraduate study and training such as at the University of Exeter, University of Warwick, Central School of Speech and Drama, Atlantic Acting School, Gaiety School of Acting, The Drama Studio, University of Manchester, and a range of PGCE courses in England and Scotland.

Drama graduates have amongst the best rates of employment amongst all arts and humanities graduates in the UK.

• 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
• 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Each programme will have slightly different requirements, both in terms of overall points and certain subjects, so please check the relevant subject in the undergraduate on-line prospectus.

Normally Ulster University welcomes applications from students with:

All Indian Standard XII (Central Boards or a State Board) with an overall average of 60% to include 50% or above in 5 subjects Where a course has subject-specific requirements 60% will be required in each of these subjects.

OR

3 year Diploma in an engineering or technology subject from a State Board of Technical Education with overall 60% (Accredited by ACITE)

Usually the minimum English language entry requirement is IELTS (academic) of 6.0 (with no band score of less than 5.5).

Some of our courses ask for a higher score.

If you do not meet the English language requirement we will give you a conditional offer subject to you meeting the requirement before the commencement of the course.
