BSc (Hons) Finance and Accounting (Foundation Year)
If you enjoy analysing data, crunching numbers and dealing with figures, our BSc (Hons) Finance and Accounting programme is the perfect way to prepare you for a career accounting and finance.
We are focused on providing you with all the building blocks you need to create a solid understanding of the financial accounting and business environments. Your first year will be integrated with the BA (Hons) Finance and Business course. You will be taught a range of modules that cover both courses allowing you to collaborate with fellow students.
During your second year you will study advance management accounting and be introduced to UK taxation. You will also be introduced to financial reporting. This module will teach you how to apply accounting standards and the theoretical framework in the preparation of financial statements of entities.
You’ll learn to apply, analyse and evaluate the principles and theories you have learned and be able to reference and apply them to contemporary situations. By putting your knowledge into practice, you’ll feel confidence and well-equipped for your future career.
In your final year, you will focus on preparing yourself for life after BNU. You will learn about international finance, UK corporation tax and move onto advanced financial reporting. You will also complete a major piece of independent research that will enhance your employability within the finance and accounting industry.
Opportunity modules are also a key part of the BNU curriculum. You can choose modules from a broad selection in areas such as sustainability, entrepreneurship, creativity, digital skills, personal growth, civic engagement, health and wellbeing and employment. Opportunity modules are designed to enable you to develop outside the traditional boundaries of your discipline and help you to further stand out from the crowd to future employers

PSW Opportunity
- 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
- 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
We require successful completion of a Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) / Standard 12 with an overall average of 65% or above.
Mathematics entry requirements
Students need the equivalent of GCSE Mathematics grade C/4.
English language requirements
Students are not required to provide an English Certificate if they achieve a score of 65% or above on the English Language subject of their a Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) / Standard 12.
A typical offer will require a UCAS tariff score of: 80 - 104
A minimum of two full A-levels (or equivalent) is required and a typical offer also requires GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4. Every application is considered on an individual basis.
