BSc (Hons) Health & Lifestyle Science with Foundation Year
If you have a strong passion for health and wellbeing then this degree is for you. It focuses on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle for individual’s and population health. Through learning about how the human body works, you will understand the impact that being active, eating a healthy diet and other lifestyle choices have on health and well-being.
The course has a central emphasis on cultivating a deep understanding of how lifestyle impacts on health and well-being, including how physiological, psychological and sociological factors influence health-related behaviour. It will equip you with a diverse and highly valuable skill set that can be applied across a range of employment opportunities.
The course includes practical experience of using dietary analysis software and of assessment of an individual’s health and fitness levels. Alongside practical experience in health and lifestyle, you will also nurture essential skills including communication of health information, problem solving, team working and critical thinking.
The foundation year offers an introduction not only to study at university but also to your chosen subject, allowing you to develop the self-confidence, knowledge, skills and understanding for further study.

- 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
- 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
FOR INDIA
- Successful completion of standard 12 th with 60% average and one further year of study.
FOR BANGLADESH
- Polytechnic Diploma (BTEB) with a final grade of at least 65%
- Bachelor of Arts, Science or Commerce (Pass) awarded after 3 years of study with a minimum final grade of at least 60% or a GPA of 3.0/4.0
FOR PAKISTAN
- Intermediate Certificate/Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) - Students from Pakistan having completed school level education only will be expected to take IFC or IFY pathways as appropriate
- 2-year Bachelor of Arts/Science/Commerce (Pass) from an HEC accredited institution with a minimum final grade of at least 60%/First Class
- 3-year Bachelor of Arts/Science/Commerce (Honours) from an HEC accredited institution with a minimum final grade of at least 60%/First Class
- Bachelor of Technology (Pass) from an HEC accredited institution with a minimum final grade of at least 60%/First Class.
FOR NEPAL
For entry into Year 1 of Bachelor's degrees (Level 4), you will typically need to have one of the following:
- a recognised International Foundation course from a UK institution following a validated UK syllabus. Entry requirements vary but we normally ask for between 60% and 65%<
- British Board A Levels or IB Diploma.
