BA (Hons) Creative Direction

BA (Hons) Creative Direction spans the creative economy. You'll learn how to engage and develop ideas into full-scale projects that apply themselves to the entire industry – your role as the director oversees them.

Creative Directors are employed across all sectors of the creative economy, whether that's advertising, the arts, design, fashion, gaming, music, publishing or TV and film. They develop an intimate knowledge of their brand’s customers and direct all communication, controlling every point where their brand encounters their audiences, customers, and users. They do this by developing a team of creatives from a range of disciplines to assist in the design, development and delivery of their organisation’s products or services.
On BA (Hons) Creative Direction, you'll work with a team of designers and content creators of illustration, photography, video and many other mediums and environments to deliver creative solutions to defined problems.

Placement year: Option of a 1-year placement
All undergraduate courses at AUB offer an optional placement year, to be taken between your second and third years of study.

If you’re unsure about this optional placement, you don’t need to decide now. Once you’re here and studying with us, the course team will discuss the placement options with you, so when the time comes, you can make a decision that’s right for you.

The Careers and Employability Service is dedicated to supporting you in turning your creativity into a great career.

Recruiters are looking to employ graduates with the right skills, personal attributes and industry experience that will make them great assets to their organisations. This is why course teams ensure employability is embedded in your curriculum, and why we provide quality information and guidance to help you stand out and prepare you to embark on your professional future.

We also have a dedicated careers platform (AUB AdvantageCareer Hub) for students and alumni with careers resources, job opportunities and events. Students are also able to book an appointment with a Careers Coach.

Services we offer

The Careers and Employability team are Alison Zorraquin, Senior Employability Officer and Emily Rogers, Employability Officer.

Our goal is to support students and Alumni in preparation for working in industry and to develop their careers. We offer careers appointments and organise a series of events and workshops on campus, including:

Lunchtime webinars: Run by the Career team, these workshops cover topics ranging from CVs to networking and using LinkedIn
Industry Professionals on campus: Every year we invite professionals from Industry to give tips and advice about breaking into the creative industry as well as providing start-up and freelance advice

One-to-one Appointments

Any AUB student or graduate can book a one-to-one virtual appointment via Zoom or Microsoft Teams with Alison or Emily to discuss their plans or simply to gain information and advice on a wide range of topics including:

Looking for graduate or professional roles and part-time work
Applying for jobs and internships
Writing a professional CV, cover letter or application
Applying for further professional or post-graduate study
Self-employment and freelancing
Volunteering
Preparing for interview

PSW Opportunity

2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

FOR INDIA

65% or above in Standard 12 from a recognised exam board.

FOR NEPAL

Successful completion of a recognised foundation course or one year of degree level studies.

FOR SRI LANKA

Achieve grades of BBB or above in the Sri Lankan General Certificate of Education.

FOR BANGLADESH

Successful completion of a recognised foundation course or one year of degree level studies.

Interviews and Auditions
None of our courses currently require an interview.
The only course requiring an audition is BA (Hons) Acting and if you're invited to one you'll have at least 10 days notice.

Portfolio guidelines
This course doesn't require a portfolio as part of the application process.
