BSc (Hons) Dental Therapy and Hygiene with Integrated Foundation Year (with placements)

The BSc Dental Therapy and Hygiene with Integrated Foundation Year is designed for applicants who wish to study Dental Therapy and Hygiene but who are not currently appropriately qualified for entry to year one of the undergraduate course. The course equips you with the scientific knowledge and skills needed to become a confident, critically self-aware, independent learner ready for the challenges of higher education. The course may be particularly of interest for qualified Dental Nurses.

Campus Information

North Plymouth campus

Four miles north of the main campus and close to Derriford Hospital, you’ll find the purpose-built, multi-million pound Peninsula Allied Health Centre based on the University of St Mark & St John (Marjon) campus. It’s where you’ll study if you’re on the Dietetic, Occupational Therapy, Operating Department Practice, Physiotherapy or Podiatry course.

2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

FOR INDIA

We require applicants to have completed the High School Certificate (year 12) or the Indian School Certificate (year 12) or the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (known as the Delhi Indian School Certificate Examination Year 12) with at least 60% or above. Please note that entry requirements may vary.

FOR BANGLADESH

We require applicants who have taken the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)/Intermediate Certificate to successfully complete an international foundation year or equivalent. Our partner college on campus, University of Plymouth International College (UPIC), offers a wide variety of foundation courses.
You can apply to study a bachelor's degree from year one if you have a Bachelors degree from a recognised Bangladeshi institution, with at least two years of study.

FOR SRI LANKA

We require applicants to have completed three Sri Lankan General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) qualifications, obtained at the conclusion of the pre-University course. Applicants who have completed other qualifications are required to have completed a Foundation Year programme with our University of Plymouth International College (UPIC) or an equivalent course.

FOR NEPAL

We require applicants to have completed the School Leaving Certificate Examination (Grade XII) or the Higher Secondary Education Board Examination with a GPA of at least 2.8 or above. Please note that entry requirements may vary.

International Applicants
If you intend to practice in your home country post-graduation please ensure you check with the nations’ dental council before committing to study with us. Individual requirements are often not very transparent and you should confirm whether our degree is transferable overseas before submitting an application.
