Certificate IV in Ageing Support
This qualification is designed to meet the needs of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community-based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery.
Workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organisation and the quantity and quality of outputs of others within limited parameters.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Sydney Metro College has the following entry requirements:
- Students must be over 18 years of age.
- Students must have completed an overseas equivalent of Year 12 or higher qualification.
Students must have either an IELTS score of 5.5 total or above with no band lower than 5.0 or equivalent.
