The Social Justice, B.A., explores connections between the ideals of justice, the realities of injustice, and practical solutions to bridge the two.
Courses offer a sociologically based foundation of knowledge and skills in social values and social change. You will be encouraged to draw from diverse perspectives to become a more informed citizen.

Job Opportunity Potential
Several options exist for the Social Justice major. Students in this program usually seek employment in government or business and some continue their studies in graduate school. Students in this major often assume careers as (or in) the following: activists, community organizers, public policy analysts, conflict resolution specialists, human relations workers, NGO workers, human rights groups, political campaigners, workers in environmental organizations, alternative media, human rights groups, political campaigns, religious organizations, international agencies, mediators, rights advocates, journalists, lobbyists, and community organizers.
PSW Opportunity
Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.
Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).
STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
First-year students generally need a state-certified high school diploma or equivalent. They also typically need to have completed four years of English, math, natural science, and social studies in high school, along with a year of fine arts. Transfer students need a minimum GPA of 2.0 in college courses.
