Co-op & Work Terms

A great way to prepare your career is to combine classroom learning with hands-on experience in the workplace. At Seneca, we complement your in-class learning with work experience opportunities to gain practical skills and build valuable connections outside the classroom. Co-ops, work terms and field placements are some of the available work-integrated learning opportunities. 

On-campus Jobs

You can help finance your studies by working at a part-time job on campus at Seneca. If you’re enrolled full time for the term and demonstrate financial need on your Work Study application, you may qualify for the Work Study program. 

If your program was less than 8 months

•    You aren’t eligible for a PGWP.

If your program was more than 8 months but less than 2 years

•    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.

For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.

If your program was 2 years or more

•    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.

If you completed more than 1 program

•    You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.

Each of the programs you completed -

• must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length

• Ontario university/college degree, college diploma, advanced diploma or equivalent
• Applicants with a combination of partial postsecondary and/or three years relevant work experience that is the equivalent of the above may be considered. A relevant resume and references must be provided.

Academic Requirements

• Second class /division degree result with minimum overall average of 55%
• No more than 4 backlogs

Supporting Documents

• A bachelor’s degree from a university or college. This may include the official degree certificate or a provisional degree, or an official letter of graduation stating that you have successfully completed the degree
• Official transcript. This must include a yearly or semester-based mark sheet. If it is a consolidated transcript, a backlog summary must be included

Academic Requirements

• Successful completion of postsecondary degree or diploma with 2nd class/division

FOR BANGLADESH

Academic Requirements

• Successful completion of postsecondary degree or diploma with overall grades of 55% (B- or 2.75)
