Ontario College Advanced Diploma in Mobile Applications Development
This advanced diploma program is designed for those who are interested in developing mobile applications for smartphones, tablets, and the web. Students will learn and apply techniques in writing apps for major platforms common in today’s mobile application marketplace. In addition, students will develop a deep understanding of object-oriented programming principles, cross-platform development both web and native, user interface design, database fundamentals, systems development, and project management, as well as being introduced to game development techniques. Students will gain knowledge and skills in these areas of study:
Analyze and design mobile applications based on user specifications using object orientation.
Develop, test, and deploy a variety of native mobile applications for multiple platforms and devices.
Develop, test, and deploy a variety of mobile web-based client server-side applications for multiple platforms and devices.
Design, model, implement and maintain databases for both web site and mobile applications.
Select and apply current and relevant security features for implementation in both enterprise and personal device applications.
Design, develop and administer mobile applications by applying User Interface design skills and guidelines.
Coordinate or participate as a member of an agile project management team in the development of basic to complex web-based and mobile applications.
Analyze, implement and test solutions to performance issues for optimization of mobile website and native applications.

Eligibility for Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP):
Graduated from a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada.
Desire to stay in Canada temporarily for work.
Important Note:
Graduating from a DLI doesn't automatically qualify you for a PGWP.
Validity of PGWP:
Depends on the length of the study program or the expiry date of your passport, whichever comes first.
Duration of PGWP Based on Study Program Length:
Less than 8 months (or 900 hours for Quebec credentials): Not eligible for PGWP.
At least 8 months (or 900 hours for Quebec credentials), but less than 2 years: PGWP may be granted for the same length as the study program (e.g., a 9-month program results in a 9-month PGWP).
2 years or more: PGWP may be valid for 3 years.
Completion of Multiple Programs:
PGWP may combine the lengths of each program if:
Each program is PGWP eligible.
Each program is at least 8 months (or 900 hours for Quebec credentials) in length.
Important Restriction:
You cannot obtain a PGWP if you already had one after completing an earlier program of study.

For Diploma, Degree and Graduate Certificate Programs
At St. Clair College all courses are taught in English and to be successful in a program, your English communication, listening, comprehension, reading and writing skills must be at a level to meet the demands of your program.
General diploma programs admission requirement for international students are as follows:
Canada & USA: High school diploma and transcript, or equivalent.
British education system: General Certificate of Education showing passes in six (6) academic subjects (including English) at the Ordinary level.
Caribbean countries (English): High school diploma and transcript, or equivalent.
Philippines: High school diploma (Grade 12) and transcript, or equivalent, or High School diploma (Grade 10) and a minimum of one year Post-Secondary education and Transcript.
West Africa (Nigeria, Ghana, etc.): WAEC (or NECO) transcript with online verifying scratch card number and PIN required.
