Bachelor in Catholic Studies

When you major or minor in Catholic studies, you’ll focus on the study of Catholic theology, history, philosophy, culture and arts, gaining a deeper understanding of the Catholic tradition, as well as its impact on the world.

You’ll immerse yourself in an interdisciplinary program devoted to the study of Catholicism, becoming equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to engage in meaningful discussions about Catholicism and its impact on the world.

You’ll explore Catholicism’s interactions with every facet of life through a curriculum that brings the immense riches of the Catholic faith and Catholic culture into every discipline of Duquesne’s liberal arts landscape.

We welcome students of all backgrounds to learn more about the Catholic faith and apply the lessons learned across a wide variety of career fields—from business and nursing, humanities and the sciences or academia, the arts and law.

PSW Opportunity

Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).

Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.

Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).

STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

India

You are required to send all of your university transcripts (grade reports) with your application. Each program evaluates your university performance differently, but most will require that you submit a GRE or GMAT score and a TOEFL score in some cases.

Students with the following minimum scores will begin full-time academic study upon arrival:

TOEFL 70
IELTS 6.0
Duolingo English Test 105 (only accepted for some academic programs)
PTE Academic 48 (only accepted for some academic programs)
A score of 540 or higher on the SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section (only accepted for some academic programs)
