B.A. in International Security Studies
International security studies is a hybrid concentration of dynamic subjects intended to prepare you for a variety of positions in the domestic or international security architecture of the modern world.
This world encompasses civil roles with a variety of governmental bodies, foreign service agencies, and the military as well as professional careers in such fields as consulting and nongovernmental agency work.
As an ISS major, you will study subjects such as the origins and termination of war, fourth- and fifth-generation conflict, hybrid warfare, ethnic conflict, human security, the nature and function of intelligence, as well has historical drivers for conflict. You also will study the ethical, moral, religious, and legal limitations imposed on conflict in the modern era, as well as an array of case studies illustrating efforts at managing conflict.
As an ISS graduate, you’ll also be well prepared should you wish to pursue a master’s or Ph.D. in graduate school.

PSW Opportunity
Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.
Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).
STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

You are required to send all of your university transcripts (grade reports) with your application. Each program evaluates your university performance differently, but most will require that you submit a GRE or GMAT score and a TOEFL score in some cases.
Students with the following minimum scores will begin full-time academic study upon arrival:

Duolingo English Test 105 (only accepted for some academic programs)
PTE Academic 48 (only accepted for some academic programs)
A score of 540 or higher on the SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section (only accepted for some academic programs)
