Bachelor in Strategic Public Relations & Advertising

As a strategic public relations and advertising student, you will gain a thorough understanding of the fundamental skills and practices of public relations and advertising along with a theoretical understanding of their cultural importance as the primary means of persuasion in modern life.

You will explore the differences, similarities and integration of public relations and advertising, a critical evaluation of industry content and hands-on production skills. Working alongside a departmental mentor, you will get to choose whether to enhance your skills in public relations, advertising or an integrated combination of both.

Through the 36-credit strategic public relations and advertising program, you will learn how to:

Create a wide variety of advertisements for magazines, newspapers and TV.
Manage advertising and public relations campaigns.
Create campaigns for nonprofit institutions.
Plan events.
Understand and apply international advertising and public relations media needs.
Account for cultural differences and how they impact advertising or public relations.

PSW Opportunity

Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).

Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.

Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).

STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

India

You are required to send all of your university transcripts (grade reports) with your application. Each program evaluates your university performance differently, but most will require that you submit a GRE or GMAT score and a TOEFL score in some cases.

Students with the following minimum scores will begin full-time academic study upon arrival:

TOEFL 70
IELTS 6.0
Duolingo English Test 105 (only accepted for some academic programs)
PTE Academic 48 (only accepted for some academic programs)
A score of 540 or higher on the SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section (only accepted for some academic programs)
