UW-Superior is a leader in the art and practice of communication, with a renowned Communication, Media and Theatre Department featuring opportunities to study communication in multiple forms, including theatre and digital filmmaking. Plus, our cutting-edge multimedia journalism concentration will give you the skills and confidence to become a digital storyteller in nearly any industry. Benefit from state-of-the-art theatre and video production facilities and equipment. Wisconsin Public Radio affiliate KUWS is located on our campus, providing audio production and on-air opportunities, and the Promethean student newspaper offers real-life experience as well.
This major is offered in on-campus and online formats. Minors in communication and multimedia journalism are offered both on campus and online. A minor in theatre is offered on campus only.

Many students benefit from working part-time while going to college. Employment helps students finance their education and provides opportunities for them to gain experience and to develop skills for future success in the career world.
Federal College Work-Study is a need-based financial aid offer that allows a student to work and earn money. Work study is a dollar allotment provided as part of your financial aid offer, and not automatically applied to your account like other financial aid. Dollars are earned by the student employee and are paid on a bi-weekly basis via direct deposit. Employment through the federal work study program is not a guarantee and should not be relied on as a manner for covering a student’s bill. Any UW-Superior student with a work-study offer may apply for work-study jobs.
Student Assist is on-campus employment that is not a part of a financial aid offer. Any UW-Superior student who is enrolled at least half-time may apply for student assist jobs.
Part Time Off-Campus Jobs are posted by area employers who are seeking college students to work in their organizations.
PSW Opportunity
Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.
Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).
STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.
