Managing planned and unplanned change in organizations. The change process is studied in relation to technology-driven changes in the workplace and to other environmental factors. Focuses on planned and unplanned systemic change, such as downsizing, re-engineering, mergers, and acquisitions.

Topics include problem formulation, research design, data collection and analysis, managerial report writing. Students will acquire experience by developing and executing their own marketing research project using sophisticated computerized analytical techniques.
Focus on analysis of needs of buyers and consumers for specific product characteristics and the development of appropriate products to satisfy such needs. The process of identifying new product opportunities, screening new product concepts, product testing and test marketing, product positioning, and development of the marketing strategy and implementation plans.
Introduction to the use of the Internet and electronic commerce in the development of marketing strategy. Examines the characteristics of electronic markets, the use of Internet for data collection and market research, the Internet as a communication and distribution medium, and the development of Internet-based marketing strategies.

Assistant/Associate Professor
 
The Department of Mathematical Sciences (DMS) at the New Jersey Institute of Technology seeks candidates to fill a tenure-track position at the assistant or associate professor level in the areas of statistical data science and machine learning. The appointment is expected to start in Fall 2025.
 
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, or related discipline with strong research, funding, and teaching potential. The department is particularly interested in candidates who, in addition to demonstrating research excellence, will be highly effective at teaching data science and statistics courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Math Adjunct
 
The Department of Mathematical Sciences (DMS) at the New Jersey Institute of Technology has available part-time adjunct positions, particularly for courses such as Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Differential Equations, and Statistics & Probability. Functions include, but are not limited to, teaching assigned course(s), maintaining student attendance records, and holding regularly scheduled office hours. If assigned to a coordinated course, the Math Adjunct must participate in common exam proctoring and grading.
 
Math Senior University Lecturer
 
The Department of Mathematical Sciences (DMS) at the New Jersey Institute of Technology seeks candidates to fill a senior university lecturer position. The primary responsibility, as a Senior University Lecturer, is to teach 12 credits each semester of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, particularly for courses in Probability, Statistics, Data Science, and Mathematics as assigned by the Department Chair. Functions include, but are not limited to, teaching assigned course(s), maintaining student attendance records, and holding regularly scheduled office hours. If assigned to a coordinated course, the Math Adjunct must participate in common exam proctoring and grading.

Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).

Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.

Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).

STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Duolingo or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) may be asked of international applicants not holding a degree from a United States post-secondary institution.  The minimum score required is 79 for the Internet-based TOEFL exam, 213 for the computer-based TOEFL exam, or 550 for the paper-based TOEFL exam.  A minimum score of 6.5 with no sub-score lower than 6.0 is required for the IELTS exam.  A minimum score of 120 is required for the Duolingo exam. A minimum score of 57 is required for the PTE exam.

GRE/GMAT requirements per academic college:

  • Newark College of Engineering - GRE optional but strongly recommended
  • Ying Wu College of Computing - GRE required for all international applicants
  • Jordan Hu College of Science and Liberal Arts - GRE optional
  • Hillier College of Architecture and Design - GRE optional
  • Martin Tuchman School of Management - GMAT/GRE may be waived for applicants with cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (international students need a WES or another NACES-approved evaluation)
  • Online Programs - GRE/GMAT is optional for all online applicants
