Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Robotics and Mechatronics)
This degree intertwines mechanical engineering, control engineering and software development, specifically for controlling sophisticated smart machines and robotics.
Mechatronic engineers work across all aspects of smart machines – from design and testing through to manufacture in industries such as robotics, medical and assistive technology, human-machine interaction, manufacturing, unmanned aerial and ground vehicles and education.
Through your study at UNSW Engineering, you’ll develop hybrid skills in mechanics, electronics and computing. Our students come to understand the conception, design, construction, maintenance, integration and repair of smart machines. These machines include robots, white goods, cameras, automated test equipment and transport vehicles.
This bachelor’s degree will build your knowledge in areas including building services, computer-controlled plant, manufacturing, robotics and autonomous vehicles. We emphasize the application of engineering science, development and management in these fields. We’ll balance the theory and knowledge development with your hands-on application of skills learned in your degree. To get you work-ready, you'll apply these skills through 60 days of approved industrial training.

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.
- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years.

Indian Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
Awarded by CBSE, overall grade in best four externally examined subjects where A1=5, A2=4.5, B1=3.5, B2=3, C1=2, C2=1.5, D1=1, D2=0.5. Students also need to provide CBSE Admit Card.
Indian School Certificate
Awarded by ICSE, overall average from English and the best three externally examined subjects.
Indian State Boards (Indian Higher Secondary School Certificate)
Average of English and the 3 best subjects in the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) in the states of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka. India HSSC issued by other states are not accepted.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or Bilingual Diploma
Entry criteria is based on scores required for entry into UNSW in 2021 and are only applicable if the Diploma has been completed. Students currently attempting the IB Diploma or Bilingual Diploma can apply directly to UNSW or through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC)
