Ph.D - General Sciences
The Department of General Sciences provides quality instruction to promote student learning in seven engineering disciplines (CHEM, EEE, MECH, CIVIL, CS, EIE, ECE and Biotechnology ) offered at BITS Pilani Dubai Campus.Courses offered in Department of General Sciences fulfil requirements for the Engineering degrees, with necessary prerequisites required for the various branches of disciplines and afford opportunities for personal enrichment and self-enhancement. Faculty provide students with a learning environment that both challenges and supports them to encourage achievement of high academic standards and to promote a deeper understanding of the foundation courses offered by our Department.
These educational activities contribute to the Institute’s mission of “Innovate, Achieve and Lead.” The faculty and staff in the Department of General Sciences uphold the values of BITS Pilani in our teaching, concern for student success, participation in the college community, and commitment to provide the highest quality education to the people of the Gulf Region and Expats. The Department of General Sciences from its very inception in 2000 is working as a supporting department to all the Engineering Departments.Department of General Sciences focuses on the creation and application of knowledge in the disciplines of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and create interest among students for learning basic sciences by simplifying the topics and including more applications in engineering. It encourages research interest amongst faculty and students.
