Multicultural and Gender Studies BA

Multicultural and Gender Studies is the academic face of diversity and inclusion at Chico State, striving to embody, promote, and celebrate the values of multicultural respect, awareness, and understanding. Our online program is guided and led by a diverse community of faculty and advocates.

You’ll examine how issues like gender, sexuality, socioeconomic class, ability, race, and ethnicity impact peoples’ lives and lived experiences—cultivating your passion for social justice through informed activism. You’ll graduate with the skills and knowledge needed to be a changemaker at any organization or business, become a leading voice for activism, or be ready to begin a postgraduate degree in law, policymaking, or research.

PSW Opportunity

Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).

Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.

Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).

STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.
