Bachelor of Business

The Bachelor of Business provides you with the knowledge and experience to move into many types of business careers such as international business, finance, public relations, management and marketing. You will develop a comprehensive knowledge of business and organisations, and the skills to analyse business issues in local, national and international contexts. You will also undertake a final-year capstone subject that lets you apply everything you have learned in collaboration with students from other disciplines. Plus, you have the option of applying for an internship to gain valuable experience whilst receiving credit towards your degree.

What you will study

The Bachelor of Business is a flexible degree offering a broad education across all key aspects of the business environment. In addition to studying the essential core disciplines of accounting, economics, finance, management and marketing, you can tailor your studies according to your interests by choosing electives from a particular Business discipline, or you can combine Business electives with subjects from other disciplines.

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
PhD students can stay upto 4 years

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Applicants need to have achieved the required score in a qualification equivalent to the completion of 13 years of schooling in Australia.

In order to succeed in your chosen course, it is assumed you have completed relevant subjects in your senior high school studies or other relevant qualifications. This is particularly important for degrees which have a strong basis in Mathematics or Science.

CREDIT FOR PRIOR LEARNING

If you can demonstrate that you have met the learning outcomes for our subjects through prior learning, such as previous tertiary or TAFE qualifications, you may be eligible for credit towards your degree. Where relevant to the UOW degree, specified credit may be given for specific subject(s); where not relevant to the degree, unspecified credit may be awarded.
