BS in Sociology
The Sociology program at CSP is a highly dynamic and relational field that explores today’s changing world. It’s a degree designed so that you can help address modern challenges and impact the community in which you live.
You will explore the historical, modern, and current approaches to matters affecting society and possible remedies through direct engagement and policy. Not only will you explore aspects of sociology from an academic approach, but you’ll also have the opportunity to engage with organizations and practitioners in the field through practicums and internships.
The BS in Sociology program supports students who are aiming toward entering a sociological human service profession, and will also refine the skills of students who may already be established in their careers. Coursework is specifically designed to allow for students to formalize their career goals and create a personalized capstone portfolio, setting them apart from other job-seekers in their fields.
Areas of opportunity to work in include mental health, family crisis, people with addiction, working with those experiencing homelessness, felon re-entry, racial and economic inequality, and many more. Those areas are extremely relevant in any human services field, such as social services, human resources, counseling, law enforcement, and more.

PSW Opportunity
Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.
Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).
STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Concordia has a test-optional admissions policy, and thus, applicants are not required to submit ACT or SAT scores as part of the admissions process.
Applicants are still welcome to send official scores (writing test not required) to CSP, but they will not be required for admission.
