PLACEMENTS

Optional, paid, 3-month (summer) or 12-month placements can be undertaken in this course. You will be supported by a dedicated Placements Coordinator within the school who oversees the placement module. You will also be assigned a Placement Supervisor who will carry out regular visits to your placement provider and meet with you and your employer. The confidence and experience you could acquire during a placement will make you more employable and put you one step ahead of the competition when you graduate.

Our collaboration with industry and the industrial placement scheme will provide you with the opportunity to be involved in new developments in the very dynamic and fast-moving computing industry. Graduates from this course are highly sought after by a range of employers, including software houses, web-development companies, application developers and service providers for business and industry.

• 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
• 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Normal entry requirements are:

• Master's degree or;
• Undergraduate degree at 1st or a 2.1 honours degree. The degree must be in a relevant subject discipline from a UK or recognised overseas University.

We do accept degree equivalent qualifications and these are subject to the approval of Robert Gordon University. Applicants holding qualifications other than those above shall be considered on their merits and in relation to the nature and scope of the proposed research programme.

In applying for a Master's of Research there may be an opportunity to progress onto a to PhD route dependent on satisfactory progress. You can choose to discuss this in more detail with the Graduate School.

English Language Requirements

• Generally, an IELTS (or equivalent) at 6.5 overall and 6.0 in each component/element is required for MRes. Other research degrees require an IELTS (or equivalent) at 6.5 overall and 6.5 in each component/element.

In order to undertake a research degree, it is essential that you can read and interpret academic journal articles, communicate effectively and write at a Master's Level.
