Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology

This qualification suits graduates with a background in exercise science or related health science disciplines seeking a career as an accredited Clinical Exercise Physiologist. You'll combine advanced study with supervised clinical experience, gaining the knowledge and judgement to deliver evidence-based exercise interventions for people at risk of, or living with, chronic disease, injury and complex health conditions. Graduates are eligible for professional registration with CEPNZ, ESSA (Australia) and other international bodies.

PSW Opportunity

  • During study, all students on a student visa can work up to 20 hours per week during semester and full time during vacations.
  • After completing Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Qualification, a student will get a three years open post-study work visa.
  • After completing Level 8 Post Graduate courses of 1 year, students get 1 year PSW.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

 

Entrance requirements for postgraduate study vary by programme with most requiring a minimum bachelor-level qualification in the same field, and some having additional requirements such as relevant work experience and/or professional registration in New Zealand.

  • A postgraduate certificate or postgraduate diploma can usually be taken at any time after the completion of your bachelor's degree.
  • If you hold an honours degree or postgraduate diploma you may be able to eligible for master’s study by thesis only. In some cases if you hold a bachelor’s degree you may apply for a coursework master’s degree or for master’s study by coursework and thesis.
