Certificate III in Bricklaying / Blocklaying

Do you want to build a career from the ground up? When you complete CPC30111 Certificate III in Bricklaying / Blocklaying you will have all the skills to become a Bricklayer or Blocklayer. This practical, hands-on course will teach you how to use tools and equipment to lay bricks for domestic, commercial, and public building projects. It covers techniques such as basic leveling procedures, basic demolition, measurements, and calculations, erecting and dismantling restricted scaffolding and setting out a project.

You will also learn how to create arches and columns, build features and curved walls and construct steps and ornamental panels. You will also develop the knowledge to interpret plans and an understanding of occupational health and safety requirements for the construction industry. This course is ideal if you love working outdoors, have good hand-eye coordination, and the ability to complete work to a high standard.

This course has a compulsory work placement that needs to be undertaken before you can successfully finish this course. Prior to this placement, you will be required to complete the Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card) unit of competency as this specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. There is no extra cost for this unit.

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

  • Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
  • Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
  • Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
  • The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

  • Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
  • Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
  • Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
  • PhD students can stay upto 4 years
