PSW Opportunity

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

  • Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
  • Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
  • Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
  • The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

  • Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
  • Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
  • Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
  • PhD students can stay upto 4 years

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Architecture, you must have:

  • A recognised overseas bachelor degree (or higher) in a *related Architecture discipline with a minimum grade point average of 5.0 GPA using a 7.0 scale; AND
  • submit a design portfolio in the format specified below to be assessed by the Program Director. Meeting the published entry requirements for this program does not guarantee admission to the program.

The design portfolio must be sixteen pages (maximum) and must include the following information:

  • Images. These must be all original images/render/technical drawings/diagrams. If the applicant is not the sole author, or is the author only of the visual material, the applicant¿s contribution must be stated in the portfolio submission;
  • Software adopted for the production of images/design;
  • Name of the project;
  • Year the work was created;
  • Project location;
  • A 100-word concept statement. This statement is not only a description; it must evidence the critical and conceptual thinking that has led the development of the applicant¿s project;
  • The scope of the design portfolio is to showcase the applicant¿s abilities, not to present the project in its entirety. Applicants should only select drawings/images/diagrams that showcase a particular and relevant skill (eg. concept design; construction and technical knowledge; critical thinking or other relevant skills). The Admission Committee will look for evidence that the applicant has worked successfully in a studio learning environment. While any of the range of pedagogical approaches to the teaching of introductory design is appropriate, the Committee will be particularly interested in the exploration of 3D form and space, and evidence of other creative work.
  • The file size should not exceed 10 MB
  • Note that as portfolios are evaluated digitally, images should be reproduced at a sufficient scale and resolution to be easily readable with limited zooming or scrolling.
  • Portfolio submissions should include a maximum of 1 professional or work experience project, unless your undergraduate degree was completed 5 or more years from the date of submission. 
  • Resubmissions are not permitted
