Bachelor of Nursing (Honours)
This one-year degree is designed for high-achieving and motivated students who have fulfilled the requirements of a Bachelor of Nursing and have achieved the required academic standard. There is a forecasted growth of 25.1% within Health Care and Social Assistance and with this brings exciting employment opportunities and career options. What you will study
The Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) is designed for exceptional nursing students looking to extend their knowledge and skills by researching a topic of interest. The degree will provide you with the skills to engage in a research topic that is of interest to you. A major component of the course is to guide you through the research process, including formulating testable questions from the research literature; devising appropriate methods to test these questions; obtaining ethics committee approval; data collection and analysis; oral presentation of results; and report writing. You will develop and conduct a research project resulting in a thesis presentation.

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.
- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
- A Bachelor of Nursing degree from a recognised tertiary institution with a Distinction average in 300-level Nursing subjects.
- Students considering an Honours degree are encouraged to consult the Program Coordinator well in advance to seek approval for enrolment, discuss their program, and negotiate a thesis topic and supervisors.
- Applicants must achieve the required score in a previous qualification, equivalent to completing at least 13 years of schooling in Australia.
