Graduate Certificate in Engineering

The Graduate Certificate in Engineering will provides foundation for the more intensive theoretical and practical work of the Graduate Diploma. The program articulates to the Graduate Diploma of Engineering program with full credit for the subjects successfully completed in the Graduate Certificate. Alternatively you may exit from this program with the Graduate Certificate award once you have completed the course requirements.

This degree also provides a pathway to the UOW Master of Engineering, which is professionally accredited by Engineers Australia.

You will study Engineering Research Methods and three technical subjects in computer, electrical or telecommunications engineering.

PSW Opportunity

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

  • Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
  • Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
  • Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
  • The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

  • Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
  • Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
  • Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
  • PhD students can stay upto 4 years

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

At least a recognised 3 year Bachelor of Engineering degree with an equivalent average mark of 60%.
 
Four year Bachelor of Engineering degree with an equivalent average mark of 50%.

CREDIT FOR PRIOR LEARNING
Students who successfully complete the Graduate Certificate will be eligible to apply for advanced standing of 24 credit points into the Master of Engineering (majors: Computer, Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering) or the Graduate Diploma of Engineering.
