Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours)
This program provides an accredited Honours level 4th year of study in psychology. The content of the program includes a number of advanced topics in psychology together with the completion of an Honours level research thesis.
Program learning outcomes
On successful completion of the program students will have:
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the underlying principles and concepts in the discipline of psychology.
- Communicate effectively and professionally in written and/or oral formats to present an independent exposition of knowledge and ideas to various audiences.
- Use high level cognitive skills to review, analyse and synthesize empirical knowledge to make informed decisions in applied psychology and psychological research.
- Work independently and collaboratively on psychological research projects applying intellectual independence and highly skilled research abilities.
- Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to ethical principles in professional practice and research.
- Demonstrate developing knowledge and skills in the practice of psychology including topics in therapeutic intervention and psychometric testing.
- Apply advanced theoretical and empirical perspectives, critical thinking and independent judgement to extend understanding and create innovative solutions in applied psychology and/or psychology research.

- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
?Admission to our undergraduate degree programs usually requires successful completion of a senior secondary school qualification similar to the Higher School Certificate (HSC), the highest educational award in New South Wales schools.
Undergraduate admissions: Students are required to have a minimum GPA of 2.0/4.0 or equivalent. Students should have completed at least one year of full time study at a university or other institution of higher education.
