Applied Science (Foundation Entry), BSc (Hons)

This programme will give you the necessary background knowledge needed for progression on to a variety of science-based degrees at UCLan.  Studying modules in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics and Skills for Science, the foundation year will give you the essential knowledge and understanding to facilitate your study at degree level.

The foundation entry year will provide you with an interesting and stimulating grounding in science and enable you to gain key practical skills in our modern, spacious and well-equipped laboratory facilities.  It will support and encourage you to develop your critical thinking and give you the confidence to apply your knowledge and understanding as you progress to your undergraduate degree.

Once you have been accepted on to the foundation course, you do not need to make an additional application in order to progress on to your chosen degree programme in the Faculty of Science & Technology (although entry requirements apply for degrees in the School of Pharmacy & Biomedical Science).
