BSc Accounting with Finance (with Foundation Year)
This course begins with an overview of accounting and finance alongside business fundamentals, delivering an in-depth knowledge of how companies use accounting and finance to make decisions and report performance under conditions of uncertainty and risk.
The full-time BSc Accounting with Finance course is built with employability embedded throughout and is delivered in an interactive way with a real world focus. Face-to-face learning is supported by online resources, including the Financial Times, case studies, simulations, learning videos, reading materials, online testing and feedback.
The Accounting with Finance degree is ideal for those interested in a future professional career in accounting, finance, audit and taxation, and acts as a foundation for further study in accounting or finance at postgraduate or professional level.
You can choose to take an additional Foundation Year before you start this course. This introductory year focuses on developing the key skills required to study at degree level and covers the same modules across all business and law courses. The modules covered will initially enhance your communications skills, digital and information literacy and ability to think critically. In addition, modules covering the Foundations of Business Management, Law, and Social Sciences will not only support your progression onto your business degree, but also give you an introduction to other disciplines. You then have the added flexibility of switching your degree programme if another discipline captures your interest, subject to availability and entry requirements.

Birmingham
Our Birmingham campus is located in the city’s Jewellery Quarter, just a short walk away from the centre of the city and other universities – making it a great place to study. The campus has a café, allowing you to grab hot and cold food whilst on the go and, with great transport links and the Birmingham Snow Hill Train Station just round the corner, you’re never far from the rest of the UK.
Manchester
Our Manchester campus, which hosts both our legal and business courses, is located in the heart of the city, close to leading law firms and Manchester Piccadilly Train Station. The Metrolink, which connects the whole of Manchester and surrounding areas, is just a 2 minute walk from campus.
Nottingham
Our Nottingham campus has brand new, modern teaching facilities and innovative student spaces - it even has a retro gaming arcade. All this within walking distance of numerous restaurants, theatres, pubs and entertainment venues.

PSW Opportunity
- 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
- 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
UK Entry Requirements
- 48 UCAS Points from a maximum of 3 A-Levels, or equivalent qualifications
- GCSE English Language at Grade C/4
You will also be invited to an interview with an academic as part of the admissions process, which will take place online.
Non-standard application route
If you have no or limited formal qualifications you will be invited to complete an in-house literacy test at one of our campuses (for those without GCSE English Language at grade C/4), as well as a formal face-to-face interview. You will also need to provide 2 years of appropriate work experience evidenced by a full CV and one reference.
