BSc Nursing – Adult
Learn how to provide compassionate care to adults who are experiencing acute/long-term illnesses and injury. This course is designed to prepare our future nurses to thrive within today’s health and social care services, providing you with the skills, knowledge and critical ability to provide person-centred care.
As an Adult Nurse you will mainly work with people over the age of 16 years old. You will work with individuals, families and communities to promote health and wellbeing, the prevention of ill-health and enable people to maintain and improve their mental and physical health. Adult Nurses support individuals at all stages throughout the life cycle, including end of life care.
This course offers a practical learning experience with 50% of your time spent on clinical placement. We have strong partnerships with healthcare providers so we can offer a diverse range of high-quality practical learning opportunities.

Job Opportunity Potential
PLACEMENTS
Optional, paid, 3-month (summer) or 12-month placements can be undertaken in this course. You will be supported by a dedicated Placements Coordinator within the school who oversees the placement module. You will also be assigned a Placement Supervisor who will carry out regular visits to your placement provider and meet with you and your employer. The confidence and experience you could acquire during a placement will make you more employable and put you one step ahead of the competition when you graduate.

STANDARD ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
- SQA Higher: BBBC and two further passes to include English and Maths at National 5 grade C or above if not held at Higher.
- SQA Advanced Higher Year 2 entry: BB to include Computing and another numerate subject and two further passes to include English and Maths at National 5 grade C or above if not held at Higher.
- GCE A Level Year 1 entry: BCC and two further passes to include English and Maths at GCSE grade 5/C if not held at A Level.
