The accelerated programme provides a unique opportunity to qualify as a Chartered Physiotherapist, develop clinically applied research skills, and achieve a Doctorate in Physiotherapy. It is the first course of its kind in the UK, and the only physical therapy programme outside North America to be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.
The first two years are run in parallel with the MSc Physiotherapy course with integrated research degree training and work placements. You can then apply for HCPC registration giving you eligibility to practice in the UK, as you spend the subsequent 18 months working on a doctoral thesis.
The course is an innovative and unique pathway to increase your research capacity and capability within the physiotherapy profession, and enable you to improve the quality of care and productivity of health services.

Job Opportunity Potential
PLACEMENTS
Optional, paid, 3-month (summer) or 12-month placements can be undertaken in this course. You will be supported by a dedicated Placements Coordinator within the school who oversees the placement module. You will also be assigned a Placement Supervisor who will carry out regular visits to your placement provider and meet with you and your employer. The confidence and experience you could acquire during a placement will make you more employable and put you one step ahead of the competition when you graduate.

PSW Opportunity
- 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
- 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Bachelors Degree with a Second Class degree* or an overall average of 55%+ from a recognised institution will be considered for courses which require a 2.2 degree
Universities of Mumbai, Delhi and Calcutta, minimum overall average of 50%
CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) - 10 Point Scale GPA 6.0 or B or 'above average'
Other Point Scale Grading Systems - 4 Point Scale GPA 2.67 or B or 55%, 7 Point Scale GPA 5 or B or 55%
A small number of University postgraduate programmes do require a minimum of second class upper classification, or an equivalent - refer to the relevant course page for more information
