History BA (Hons)
From medieval knights and early modern witches, highway robbers and French revolutionaries, to the trenches of the First World War. From the slums of Victorian London, the far corners of Empire, into the gilded homes of the aristocracy, and on to the rise of fascism – History BA (Hons) at the University of Northampton will take you on a journey through time and help you prepare for your future.

We will support you to achieve your career and study ambitions, which is why if you complete our Employability Plus Gold programme or Changemaker Gold certificate alongside your studies and if you haven’t secured full-time employment 12 months after graduating* we will secure a three – six month paid internship for you, or support you into postgraduate study.
This course offers innovative, research-driven topics on British, European, and Global history from the 13th century to the 21st century. You can study a range of themes, such as gender and emotions, social and cultural history, political and military, and the history of crime, medicine and the body. Throughout you will work with academics who regularly publish as experts in their fields.
The team of lecturers is big enough to offer a variety of modules, but small enough to provide you with a close-knit learning environment. You will know your tutors personally and see them regularly and there will always be someone to help you with your academic study, and to provide pastoral support hand–in-hand with Northampton’s excellent student support services.
