B.S. Technology Education
Technology Education is a Bachelor of Science degree program consisting of general, professional and technical course work that leads to teaching certification in all 50 states. Students who complete the B.S. in Technology Education may be eligible for credits relative to Project Lead the Way, a K-12 pre-engineering teaching initiative. Although the program is designed to lead to an education degree, graduates have also found challenging career opportunities in fields related to communication, construction, manufacturing and transportation. More than 30 credits of technical requirements provide students with hands-on experiences using computers, robots, electronics, and more conventional equipment used in processing materials, transportation, construction and processing information. Course work is enriched by involvement with professional organizations and professional activities.
The program is also offered with a distance option for geographically-bound students seeking Career and Technical Education certification.

PSW Opportunity
Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.
Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).
STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
The English proficiency requirement may be waived for applicants from English-speaking countries. This will be determined by the Admissions Office after you have applied.
Ways to show evidence of English proficiency:
- Official TOEFL score: Minimum iBT (or MyBest) score of 70, or minimum paper-based score of 525.
- Official IELTS score, or IELTS One Skill Retake: Minimum score of 6.0
- Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic): Minimum score of 48
- Duolingo English Test (DET):
- Minimum score of 115 overall (minimum sub/sectional scores of 90 or higher)
- UW-Stout's English as a Second Language Institute (ESLI) will require that students who submit Duolingo English Test scores:
- complete additional testing conducted by the ESLI, and
- enroll in additional ESL courses, as applicable.
- Successful completion of UW-Stout's English as a Second Language (ESL) program.
- Earned transfer credit from a regionally accredited school equivalent to UW-Stout's English 101, with a grade of C or higher.
