International Hospitality & Events Management - BA (Hons)

The programmes encompass a range of core and optional modules, which will develop the skills you need for specialist roles within the Tourism, Hospitality and Events (THE) industries, particularly hospitality. Industrial work experience is a core part of the programme allowing industrial input into these programmes in which vocational and academic themes are integrated throughout. For example embedded into the main BA (Hons) programmes are opportunities to gain internationally recognised professional qualifications alongside your degree.

The work placement usually takes place between the end of year one and beginning of year two. It usually comprises either a 15 week 10 credit option or an 48 week 20 credit option. The placements may be undertaken in the UK or abroad. In some circumstances, a further placement period may also be undertaken at year three.

This programme is designed to provide graduates with the range of skills and knowledge required for management positions in one of the largest employment sectors both globally and in the UK.

The skills acquired enable graduates to develop into senior managers in a relatively short period of time in a wide range of areas including employment in hotels, restaurants, clubs, bars, licensed retail management, conference and event management, personnel and marketing within hospitality; plus hospitality sections within the armed services, contract, health service and welfare catering.

The BA (Hons) programmes are accredited by the Institute of Hospitality. Successful graduates are eligible for licentiate membership of the Institute of Hospitality.

PSW Opportunity

2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

For India

Students with good grades in their Polytechnic / College of Technology Diploma (3- to 4-years in duration).
OR
Students with good grades in their Indian Certificate of Education - awarded on completion of Standard X AND who have completed a recognised Foundation Course.
OR
Students with good grades in their Higher Secondary School Certificates - Indian School Certificate (ISC) / Intermediate Certificate / Higher School Certificate / Higher Secondary Certificate / All India Senior School Certificate / Pre-University Course - awarded on completion of Standard XII

For Bangladesh

Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Intermediate with GPA 4.0 plus IELTS of 6.0 will be considered for Year 1 entry
A-Levels or International Baccalaureate
American High School Diploma with GPA 3.0 (grade B average) plus one of the following:
- SAT 1 combined score of 1800 or above and a 6 score in the essay
- ACT (American College Test) score of 20 or above
- Advanced Placement Tests (Aps) with grade 3 or above in at least two relevant subjects

For Pakistan

Students with good grades in their Sri Lankan General Certificate of Education (Advanced level).

who have completed a recognised Foundation Course.
OR
Students who hold a Diploma in Social Work / Higher National Diploma (HND) / Advanced Diploma in Social Work.

For Nepal

Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Intermediate 60% pass.
