Summer Program at CEFAM, Lyon
This 4 week program has been designed to improve students’ French language skills while enriching their knowledge of French and European Cultures. The program offers French and Global Studies courses combined with cultural activities, including a 2 day visit to Paris.
Course Descriptions
Global Studies
With its cultural, historical, and political background, France is the perfect place to take a Global Studies course. Students will attend stimulating seminars on several aspects of not just France’s, but also Europe’s, role in the world. Outside the classroom, a comprehensive series of visits has been organized to artistic and historical destinations, from museums and art galleries to centers portraying vital social and political events. This is a course that by educating, and perhaps surprising students, is bound to broaden intellectual and cultural horizons.
French (pre-intermediate level required)
There is no better place to study a language than in the country where that language is spoken. Our highly reputed teacher takes a very practical approach to teaching the French language. Although time will be spent in the classroom, students will also have guided opportunities outside of the classrooms to experience France first-hand in a practical manner. Students will visit places as diverse as the World Heritage site of Lyon’s Old Town, a typical open-air French market, and Lyon’s finest park.
