This flexible course has been designed for those already working within a sports environment to advance knowledge in applied areas such as MSK Ultrasound, Injection Therapy, Nutrition, Sports Psychology and Medicine in Extreme Environments; helping you to fully prepare your athletes.

UCLan School of Medicine recognises that professionals in this arena often have an acquired depth of knowledge in their subject area created by previous professional career development. This programme allows the student to bring 40 credits of previously acquired CPD/PD to their pathway creating a truly unique learning experience which rewards and recognises the continuous professional journey of the student.

Each module is designed for flexibility, many delivered in a combination of face to face and online learning, with each student selecting their best fit route through to their chosen award.

This Performance Medicine course is delivered by a wide team of academic and clinical staff supported by the School of Medicine and Allied Health research units.

Preston is well served by the M6 motorway both north and south and excellent cross country rail links. There are also two major international airports in Manchester and Liverpool John Lennon.

PSW Opportunity

2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

55% in bachelor degree

70% in Year 12 English*
Or
70% average grade in Year 11 and Year 12 English provided Year 12 is not below 65%
Or
Standard English language entry requirements – IELTS 6.5 or equivalent

GCSE or O-Level English Grade C - Grade C

A Level English Language - Grade C

TOEFL iBT including Special At Home Edition - 88 (with minimum grades of 21 in each component)

UCLan Test of English Language Level (TELL) - Merit (75%) with no component below pass (65%)

Pearson Test of EnglishAcademic - 61 with minimum of 55 in each component

Must have completed Year 4 of MBChB (MBBS) qualification or relevant professional qualification for example in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy or Sports Rehabilitation
Be actively engaged in or access clinical experience in a Sports and Exercise Medicine practice in order to support learning within the programme
Have sufficient competency in English language (IELTS Level 6.5 or equivalent)
