Fashion Accessories with Business Studies BA(Hons)

This dynamic new course embraces culture, commerce and creativity and has been designed to answer the fashion industry’s demands around innovation and sustainability.

Working in our extensive workshops and studios, you will experiment with materials and techniques, designing and making cutting-edge accessories, products and adornments. We will encourage you to express new ideas about sub-culture and identity, gender and politics, society and environmental concerns that will challenge precedent and drive change.

Products and accessories contribute to around 50% of the fashion industry and the UK employs around 890,000 people in this sector, which generates billions for the economy. This is why, at Brighton, business studies is integrated throughout your course. You will be encouraged to work in response to consumer trends while considering issues such as globalisation, technology, distribution and social empowerment.

When you graduate you will have the sophisticated design and craft skills required to work in the field – whether as an independent designer, at a fashion brand, or as an artist – and the commercial understanding of what is required to take a product to market.
